Why malicious links are becoming so common in uganda
Many attackers with their own intentions across the world are developing such links and they are shared through emails, social media platforms among others.
In Uganda, people with their own intentions promote scam through whatsapp, telegram among others.
This is how a whats-app malicious link looks like
![]()
They contain description showing that you can get free data from whatsapp when whatsapp is either celebrating anniversary or any event.

NOTE; The only service providers in uganda eligible to sell data are mtn, airtel, roke telecom, vodafone, uganda telecom, lyka and they have full authority to monitor and do promotions through their promoted campaigns.
Another reason as to why they are common is that, easy to disguise since people cannot understand where they can lead or redirect. And they rename them to simply do what they want.
